Hi,
I have a Windows 2003 SP2 server that encounter some issue after applying the security baseline policy template through the Security Configuration and Analysis snap-in. Although I can launch the event viewer, I can't open the Event properties to see the detail of the event log. I also noticed that I am not able to start the RPC service, giving me error of 'Access denied'. I have since reverse the change by applying the default security template but still encounter the same problem. Can anyone advice?

Hi James,
Thank you for your repsonse. I have read through the article but could not follow through as:
1)There is no RPC subkey in the stated registry hive.
2) I'm not able to open the group policy editor property page and so is not able to edit its value. (Probably due to RPC not started).
PS: The server is a standalone server.
