Could you please explain what you mean by "freeze":
- is it clients that get no response of the server (client terminal sessions get disconnected?)
- is it the local interface on the server that stops reponding
- does your server comes back Ops if you wait long enough...?

Some ideas:
- Raid or disk problems (if the server freezes localy)
- Network congestion due to backup LAN traffic.
We have a windows 2003 domain enterprise server and a windows 2003 enterprise terminal server. Both are dual processors and 1GB or more of memory. Both servers are on the same LAN.

The Terminal server will freeze when files are being backed up from the domain server.
Also the Terminal server may freeze during searching for files.

Any suggestions where we should look to correct the issue?

It's a serious issue.

Thank you
Leonard

I cannot ping to the terminal server from another local workstation. The mouse will not move. There is no screen activity.

The computer needs to be rebooted.

Is there anything other information I can provide to help.

Thank you
Leonard

This problem is bcoz of the CPU & memory utilization, try by atleast increasing the memory. As you know win2k3 enteprise server basic memory should be above 512mb for perfomance but along with that you installed Terminal services so it utilise more memory needed to support applications.
So best thing is Try increasing memory.

Venkatesan
