ilo passthrough service not starting

I have one server that the ilo passthrough service refuses to start on, no errors just service failed.

If I try to re-install it just says service already exists.

help please

what your server model ? ...etc

Sorry forgot model it is a dl360 g3

Disable the service and do the reinstall but first make sure the service has the right credentials.

thanks,
diabled sevice, removed it and reinstalled it. It is using service account by default.

So now I can reinstall it BUT still get error:
Could not start the HP iLO Passthrough Service on local computer.
teh service did not return an error. This could be an internal Windows error or an internal service error.

nothing in event log.
This is the only one out of about 60 that we have iLO running on, that refuses to start.

Ken,

Try to start the service with the local administrator account on the logon tab of the passthrough service try this

computername\administrator
and then the password

Have you checked to see if the Admin tab on the ilo window -> global settings-> passthrou is enabled?

passthrough is enabled, also tried disabling and auto no difference.

Finanlly found the problem.
The application log was corrupt and seemed to stop the service starting.
When I cleared the application log off it went.

WIERD!

I would suggest that you clear your logs periodically so as to avoid such wierd issues.

they are set to 1mb and auto overwrite, never had this problem before
