Slow opening files from Windows 2003 Server

Hi Guys,
I have a proliant ML370 G3 server that i have installed w2k3. What i am seeing when i goto open an office file larger then 1MB is that it can take anything upto 2 mins. I have a similar server running 2k and that runs fine. All NiC's and switch port settings have been checked and they 'seem' ok. In regards to the NiC's I have 3 (Hp, NC7170) that are teamed and load balanced. Anyone experienced anything similar ?

u r opening the files from a share in w2k3 server or when u r in the server and opening a fine is slow???

hi,

no processing times on the server are fine when logged into the console, this problem is from workstations connected to share's on the server.

In woul suggest checking the NIC's and switch-port settings one more time

check the ports are "teamed" on the switch

check full/half duplex settings on ALL seperate NIC's and switchports.

to troubleshoot first "unteam" the adapters using one NIC. Or disconnect 2 from 3 NIC's and perform tests
