My Net server crashes from time to time with critical hardware error telling me to contact hardware vendor.

I have a p-III 600 mhz cpu and 512 mb ram bios 4.06.30 pv and windows 2003 enterprise edition.

Any clues what could be causing this?

Hello,

It seems that your NetServer LC 2000 has not been designed specifically for Windows Server 2003:
http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bizsupport/TechSupport/DriverDownload.jsp?pnameOID=19399&locale=en_US&taskId=135&prodSeriesId=50440&prodTypeId=15351

However, Check your Event Log and post the Event ID along with the Source name.
Also, post what is the exact hardware error about?

Thanks

"critical hardware error" is rather vauge, do you have error messages or event logs? more info is better.

how long does it run before faulting? weeks, years, or minutes?

this hardware is quite old, but HP was allways good about staying in spec, and microsoft is always good about backwards compatability. bios and firmware updates all around may not be a bad idea.
