I don't know tru64 and the following problem:

I am trying to configure remote printing from a HPUX system to a TRU64 v5.1 system. In SAM on hpux it says to make sure that the rlpdaemon is running but I can't find it on the tru64 system. The print queue on the hpux system says:

printer queue for dispatch_tst

Warning: bmhp57 does not have access to remote printer abc01_que

bmhp57: waiting for queue to be enabled on bmau02

I have tried stopping and starting the schedulers on both systems.

Hi,

the name of the daemon is lpd.
Can you post the definition of the print queue on the HP?

if hpux supports bsd printing system it will work, if hpux doesn't support bsd printing it will not work.

don't forget to read the man page about lpd to be sure you have enabled remote access (e.g. /etc/host.lpd file).

Its working now. The man page on lpd says the server name needs adding to /etc/hosts.lpd or /etc/hosts.equiv so I added it to both!
