    <description>Hello,&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;can someone tell me the best commands for troubleshooting and setting the NIC in tru64.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;I know the basic commands such as ifconfig, netstat, ping etc.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;The issue I have is that a server has been rebooted and the backup's are running 10 times slower. &lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;I have checked the card settings in /var/adm/messages&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;and the card started with:&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Nov 18 11:27:51 cgcu087a vmunix: alt1: 1000 Mbps full duplex Link Up via autonegotiation&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;basically i would like to know how to display and change the media speeds&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Thanks&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Chris.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;NB.       <description>You can check with:&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;hwmgr get attr -cat network&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;And change it with lan_config command, see man lan_config for more information.</description>

      <description>&amp;gt;&amp;gt;&amp;gt;Backup is running 10 times slower&lt;BR /&gt;i suppose u are not taking backup on tape...&lt;BR /&gt;How are u taking backup.....&lt;BR /&gt;any changes done in the system....&lt;BR /&gt;if u feel its about LAN your complete syatem should be slow....whenever it is interecting outside....&lt;BR /&gt;You may try restart network.&lt;BR /&gt;#rcinet restart&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Any more observation you have...&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;BR,&lt;BR /&gt;Kapil</description>
