    <description>This would be using the user access (hyperchannel). Thanks for your response. I found my answer. While the user is connected to the target server and after they have sent the file, they should enter remote chmod (permissions) (filename).</description>

      <description>If you are using the connect command to send files, how can I maintain the same file permissions in the receiving server that were on the sending server?</description>

      <description>Arlene,&lt;BR /&gt;what do you mean by "connect" command - the ssh proxy command "connect.c" ? I'm not aware of this, but if you just want to copy files without encryption and with the same file permissions as the sender have a look to the "nrdist" command on Tru64-Unix.</description>
