topic Collect stops running - (hangs) in Operating System - Tru64 Unix

I have a 5 memeber cluster running Tru64 V5.1B-pk2. Two of these systems are GS80 and three are GS1280. Collect starts at boot time and seems to run OK on the GS1280's, but on the GS80's it stops running a few days, weeks, not consistant. I have discovered that on the systems where it stops running the output file is about 2MB and on the systems where it is OK it's only about 120k. I have to every now and then restart collect.

Can anybody help, or know what causes this problem? Any help will be appreciated.

why not using the kerneldebugger to check if collect is still running and what function is currently called (have a look into the admin manual).

Another approach is to be sure you have installed latest patchkit and checks the patch descriptions of the newest patchkit if your problem is still listed.
