richard

thanks so much for replying so quickly.
I was able to get it going again using IPC.
Am looking at the console_access.dat and driver_access.dat file if the problem arises again.
thanks

hi all
a node in our cluster has lost power and caused the cluster to hang. Within availability manager, I was trying to use the quorum fix, but receive error message :
No privilege to execute Adjust Quorum Fix.
Does anyone know how I can change the user or fix this problem.
Thanks so much

There's a description in the AMDS manual (1.3) of how the security configuration works:

http://h71000.www7.hp.com/openvms/products/availman/6552pro.html

If you don't know a write access password, and your cluster is hung, it's going to be hard to recover it, unless you have an easily accessible backup. And there isn't one by default anyway, I believe.

If you're in an hurry to get your cluster back, the console IPC quorum mechanism might be your best bet for now. AMDS is 'preferred' though.

http://forums13.itrc.hp.com/service/forums/questionanswer.do?threadId=997876

Check the security triplets in the AMDS$DRIVER_ACCESS.DAT file on the collector side.
If the last field i.e. access verification code is R(read) then the Adjust Quorum Fix will not work and the following error message is generated:
"No privilege to execute Adjust Quorum Fix ."
Change the access verification code to W (write) or C(control) to use the Adjust Quorem Fix .
