      <description>&lt;DIV&gt;Hi All,&lt;/DIV&gt;&lt;DIV&gt;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp; One of our customers is planning to upgrade to 8.4 and they are using the product OSU DECThreads as web server, any idea about running this on 8.4.&lt;/DIV&gt;&lt;DIV&gt;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp; I tried googling but couldnt find anything to the point and latest information.&lt;/DIV&gt;&lt;DIV&gt;" The WebServer we do uses is the OSU DECThreads &amp;nbsp;HTTP Server - This (or was) supplied on the&amp;nbsp;DEC's Internet Product Suite (IPS) CD-ROM "&lt;/DIV&gt;</description>

      <description>&lt;P&gt;Will the OSU Web Server work on an OpenVMS (Alpha? I64?) server? &amp;nbsp;Probably.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Do your due dilligence for your customer.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Test it, and particularly using your customer's particular environment and settings.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;And in general, definitely ensure your OpenVMS V8.4 system is patched to current, too.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;As for web server alternatives,&amp;nbsp;&lt;A target="_blank" href="http://www.vsm.com.au/internet/openvms_web.shtml"&gt;WASD and CSWS/Apache are the other common options.&lt;/A&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;</description>
