Hello,

Can you please check the information, if DEC-Windows is installed and started in the OPen VMS. For excurssion to run, you need to have DEC-Windows running in the OPen VMS.

regards,
Jai.

Hello,
we would like to use PCs via Citrix Server and Excursion as Thin Client for OpenVMS. We could install Excursion on the Citrix Server. But every Thin Client connection ends up with an error. From the Citrix Server we can start a session and we see the OpenVMS session on the Windows monitor. So we think, that there is an configuration problem. Does anybody know more. We need this configuration, that the OpenVMS process will continue during PC down time.
Best regards Rudolf Wingert

Hello Jai,
as I did wrote, OpenVMS is ok. I can open a window on the Citrix server and on a PC with a local Excursion installation too. But I can't open a window on a Thin Client. Citric do not redirect the output to the client.
Best regards Rudolf

Somewhere in vms when using decwindows you have specified the "final terminal" with a command like:

$set display/create/node=xxxx/trans=tcpip

If xxx is defined to your Citrixserver, how can then vms decwindows know about some other terminal to display on?

Hello,
the problem was not the display id. It is every time the same. The Citrix Server should forward the "session" or "terminal" to the thin client. The problem was the security. We must allow a TCP/IP connection for every host. Since this it does function, but not for every user. May be there is another one item, which have to be set. Also have we to verify the multi thin client and user access via the same Citrix server.
Best regards R. Wingert
