Hello I am trying to locate the DecSet client for CMS and MMS, I can find references to it on the HP OpenVMS page
http://h71000.www7.hp.com/commercial/decset/decset_index.html?jumpid=reg_R1002_USEN
But I can't find the software and the spd is 64.06, does anyone know if this is still available or did the name change?

Thanks Julie

HP doesn't have this available for public download. If you subscribe to the product libraries, you'll get a quarterly shipment of media which will include this product. Recently, HP is also providing a download site with access directions in your shipment.

Andy

Hmmm. Deja vu.
http://forums1.itrc.hp.com/service/forums/questionanswer.do?threadId=1099808

The package is apparently now known as HP DECset clients, QB-3WUAA-SA, or whatever HP part number has replaced that DEC 2-5-2 part. The Windows CMS client and MMS client bits were on a disk included with the kit.

Here's the EMEA page with the SPD: http://h18000.www1.hp.com/emea/software/uk/decsetcl.html

Yes, this software stuff can be hard to find -- and unfortunately for HP, particularly difficult to find if you should try to use the HP local web search engine. (Google searches with the site:hp.com keyword used to localize the target tends to work much better, in my experience.) And yes, you'd think there'd be a link or a cross-reference from the DECset web page. Go figure.

Stephen Hoffman
HoffmanLabs

I do get the quartly distribution but I cannot find a client on the cd's. I have DECSet installed but no client that I can see. That was why I asked if it was a different name. Do you know if it is on the latest cd's or do I need to go back a ways?

Thanks Julie

I've not seen the DECset Client kit included on the standard OpenVMS distro. It was seemingly always handled separately, in my experience.

You might ring up HP and ask about it, and about the SPD and part number and status. (And post back here?)

If you are talking about Win32 clients, I don't know where, if anywhere, those distributions are available. It does look, however, as though Netbeans supports MMS and CMS:

http://h71000.www7.hp.com/openvms/products/ips/netbeans/

One possibility here is that the statement of support that is part of the DECset documentation is out of date with respect to what clients are currently supported and/or on offer from HP. In other words, Netbeans may be what they expect people to be using.
