DS15 can't get console access

We just received some DS15 servers to complement the ES45s that we normall use. But we cannot get to the system console through the serial port or via the VGA video card that was added.

Through the VGA video, we can sometimes get to the >>> prompt using Ctrl-Z but after that nothing that we type shows up. Other times, we can't even get to the >>> prompt.

We also tried connecting through the COM1 serial port but when using Hyperterminal, we get nothing. We've tried the normal settings, 9600 baud, no parity, etc.

Any ideas? We're ready to toss them out soon but they have never been used.

When you do get to the SRM prompt, what does
"show console" say? (Should be "graphics"?)

Null-modem cable? Plenty of potential serial
connection problems.

Tried the other serial port? (Does it have
two? All my junk is older than a DS15.)
