As Volker has mentioned, the Ask The Wizard (ATW) area has been shut down for probably six years now.

Some of the answers are now quite stale, too.

The "official" URL is/was http://www.hp.com/go/openvms/wizard, and that URL is still valid.

There is a zip archive of the entire ATW contents available on the OpenVMS Freeware.

Look on the Freeware V7.0 distribution, in the ask_the_wizard directory.

While I wouldn't expect to see the ATW area restart, nor another Freeware distribution past V8.0 created for that matter, you'll want to check with HP directly if these are of interest to you.

Does the HP site still offer the "Ask The Wizard" function? I know the site has gone through some major renovations. Just looking to see if this option was still out there. Thanks in advance.

MJ26,

the 'ATW' or 'Ask the Wizard' page is still there:

http://h71000.www7.hp.com/wizard/

But as the Wizard has left HP some years ago, it's not being maintained anymore. You may find more current information in this 'new' forum (the previous ITRC OpenVMS forums have been migrated to this Community, but finding any of the 'old ITRC articles' is nearly impossible) or on http://labs.hoffmanlabs.com/

Volker.

Ask the Wizard was wound down in 2004. Although there is some useful information in the archive, it's getting dated and should be used with caution.

Most of the folk who contributed to ATW are still contributing answers to this forum, so in a sense, the answer to your question is "YES it's right here!"
