topic Upgrading Layered Products in Operating System - OpenVMS

I am planning on upgrading layered products on vms 7.3.2 and 7.3.1. Is there any document on what versions are newer than mine and what changes are in those newer versions? Example: Pathworks/Advanced server currentl verion 7.3.020 on 7.3.2 and currently 7.3.120 on 7.3.1. Latest LP is 7.3.A92AAECO4.. dowes this mean 7.3.120 > 7.3.A92? where does the A come from and how can I read/plan that in my upgrade plan?

I'd suggest that you refer to the SPDs:

http://h18000.www1.hp.com/info/spd/

HTH,

WWWebb

Do you subscribe to the quarterly Software Product Library, SPL? This is a collection of CDs that have the layered product kit as well as release notes and installation documenation. The cover letter lists the contents of each CD. You'll need to review the documentation on each product for the latest version and compatability with your operating systems. There are sometimes two versions of a layered product on the media kit.

You can also look at http://h71000.www7.hp.com/doc/index.html for the release notes to some layered products, although you'll still need a media kit for installation.

Andy
