    <description>We have pressed the halt button on our alphas and typed continue to restart the cpu again.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Having halted we are unable to login @ opa0:&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;I know a @sys$startup:decw$startup restart can be done for dec windows to reset DTLOGIN/DTGREET.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;However we are not using Dec Windows / motif!&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Is it possible to reset the login so we can login @ opa0: again?&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;TIA&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Billy D.       <description>Hi Billy,&lt;BR /&gt;you aren't using Motif; this means you are using VT serial console?&lt;BR /&gt;If true, show terminal characteristcs and mainly Owen, Device type and tyoe ahead.&lt;BR /&gt; &lt;BR /&gt;@Antoniov&lt;BR /&gt;</description>

      <description>AFAIK, OPA0 is character-cell oriented, so you don't need DecWindows anyway. a plain &lt;CR&gt; would normally prompt you for username.&lt;BR /&gt;But more settings may be required, so pleas inform about:&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;What type of Alpha are you talking about, What type is OPA0: VT-like, or a PC (using terminal emulation)?&lt;BR /&gt;What port is it connected to (if applicable)?&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Willem&lt;/CR&gt;</description>

      <description>What does &amp;gt;&amp;gt;&amp;gt; SHOW CONSOLE indicate?&lt;BR /&gt;serial or graphics?&lt;BR /&gt;Setting WINDOW_SYSTEM = 1 will turn it ON,&lt;BR /&gt;not OFF.  Set it to 0 to turn it off.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Dave.&lt;BR /&gt;</description>
