Does anyone know of a company with test engines for OpenVMS certification. I have used Boson in the past, but I have not seen any Boson OpenVMS test engines.

Anyone have a link with OpenVMS test question pdf's (like those for training courses) or a company with an OpenVMS cert test engine?

Start with http://www.hp.com/go/certification

There are links to sample (North American) questions at http://h10017.www1.hp.com/certification/examinfo.html for some exams along with authorized testing centers. Used to be Prometrics, it looks like HP's addeded Promissor, see the HP web site for details on approved testing sites.

There used to be a CD you could order, TRK #NAT001/0699, with the 8 course manuals from the recommended classes for ASE. You should have broad experience with VMS systems for the ASE exam.

Andy Bustamante
Alpha/OpenVMS ASE

Hi Victor,

Speaking of independent certs, I personally tried this one some time ago...
http://www.brainbench.com/xml/bb/common/testcenter/taketest.xml?testId=200
Initially it was free as a part of their promo, today it's $25.

Hi Victor,

the partner for taking exams is Prometrics, some of the exams can be taken online actually and it seems the first attempt is even free.

Greetings, Martin

Hello Victor,

currently no VMS exams are in Beta. As I understand it, there are none to be expected to go Beta in the near future either.

Andy gave you the pertinent links for the hp certs in his post. If you are interested in getting certified, I do suggest to stick to these, since they will carry the most credibility.

Currently there are three VMS specific exams (Basic and advanced System management, Networking), which give you the CSA and/or CSE. If you do want to get into the ASE et al. level you need to augment them e.g. with HW courses (Storage, Alphaservers...).

Information on test centers can be found at http://www.2test.com/

I have further details in a flyer, which is currently in the clutches of the black hole that United Airlines uses as their luggage handling system. If I ever get my bags back I will follow-up.

Greetings, Martin
