BIND Resolver Usage Reporting

We have only the BIND resolver running on our hosts. (TCPIP V5.4)

1) As far as I can tell, the resolver does no caching of query results. True?

2) I'd like to know how many requests the resolver sends out over some period of time (lets say 24 hours). Is there any way to do this?

Hi,

1.) If you do run a client only, this is correct. There is a caching only Bind server
configuration that you might want to look into.

2.) If you like the idea of the caching server you can also get statistics ;-). Check
