Via the OpenVMS homepage you can find product matrixes etc. for interity, e.g. Oracle just announced a version of RDB for Integrity (see http://dba.openvms.org/stories.php?story=06/03/07/9802626).

Note: the current version of VMS on IA64 is V8.2-1, this is what RDB needs.

regards Kalle

Hi,

Welcome to the OpenVMS forum.

We have been using VMS on Itanium from version 8.0 (not officially released) on. We're now running V8.2-1, and planning for migrating away from the Alpha platform with most of our applications (only a few will stay on Alpha; simply because some third-party software is not, and will never be ported to VMS on Itanium). Thus far, we haven't encountered any serious problems when testing our applications on Itanium. The only drawback is that the Fortran compiler does not support F77. Recently, I installed ACMS (yet another hurdle taken).
So, the future looks good.
But, as Karl said, have a close look at the product matrix to see what is, and what is not (and maybe never will be) supported on VMS on Itanium.

Regards,
Kris (aka Qkcl)

(07-Feb-06)
There is no Openvms I64,it seems that the next version will be for openvms, but when?
I have used Alpha server and openvms-alpha for several years.I can't accept Itanium!
I thought this topic was all about you wanting to move to Integrety, which has Itanium CPUs. Is there a confusion between systems/chips/architectures perhaps?

Perhaps restate your question.
What product on what platfor is yoru requirement?

Here is my _speculation_ as to why the release schedule is, as it is.

There was no Oracle-Oracle for Itamium. Oracle decided not to port the older (still heavily used versions like 9i) but go straight for the current 10g. However, the release target for that (10gR2) was not quite ready for OpenVMS. So they gave use an early drop 'to get going' with the finale release for both Alpha and Itanium (= integrety = ipf :-) to follow soon.

hth,
Hein.
