Hi!

After installing VMS83A_UPDATE V6.0, the debugger won't start any more (see attached).

I first thought the contained VMS83A_DEBUG V1.0 is the culprit, but when I installed it on its own, everything was fine.

Just FYI.

cu,
Martin
Thank you for posting this. Saved me some headache as I was about to deploy on my development system. I've been able to duplicate the problem on my test system.

I have heard, that first updating VMS83A_UPDATE V6.0 and then VMS83A_DEBUG V1.0
could work. I can't confirm this for my platform AXP1000, at least if one does
some other patch installations inbetween.

Hi,

This problem was reported yesterday but for the VMS83A_SYS-V0700 patch kit. That kit was not included in the VMS83A_UPDATE-V0600 kit, the VMS83A_SYS-V0600 kit was. So, at this point, it's not clear what kit is the culprit. Engineering is looking at it. Depending on their initial evaluation I expect to be putting one or both kits on hold until they can research this further.

George Pagliarulo
ECO Release Process
OpenVMS Sustaining Engineering
Hewlett-Packard Company
Eeek!

That'll teach me to not install multiple ECOs at once (and then blame the biggest one ;-)

I'll wait what Engineering finds out.
