DSM will not run on Linux. It is specifically for the VAX/Alpha platform. Cache v 5.x.x runs on Linux. It is an object oriented Mumps product from Intersystems Corporation. It is available with a free download from www.intersys.com. This is a single user version.

PM, as others have mentioned, DSM is VAX and Alpha "specific." However, there are several derivations of MUMPS that are multi-platform. One I've seen is simply called "M." I've seen it used in DSM environments and runs on WinTel at least, I believe.

Cache is Intersystem's replacement for DSM and it is multiplatform, multiple O/S. Most of the Digital-centric hooks, bells and whistles are gone. Based on conversations with my DSM customers, Cache isn't a direct, totally upward compatible replacement and requires customization and migration when moving from DSM to Cache.

There are also other derivitive Mumps offerings from other vendors that have been used to develop rather unique, non-medical solutions.
