Hi,
I have problem using DecForms and LSE with OVMS V7.3-1:

- I create a new form using the command $ FORMS DEV/TEXT=LSE TEST.
- I create the panel and it's ok (panel editor is ok too).
- When I edit the ifdl, it's open using LSE editor, but when I select exit option from LSE the message is displayed: NO MODIFICATIONS MADE TO FORM and UNWIND.
- When I try to edit IFDL again, error message is displayed: ERROR OPENING MBA91:[TEST]TEST.*;* AS INPUT. INVALID WILDCARD OPERATION.

The version of DecForms is V3.3A and LSE V4.7.

I make tests using the same softwares version with OpenVMS V7.2-2 and the problem not occurs.
I upgrade the OpenVMS to V7.3-1 and the problem occurs.

I think that the problem is OVMS V7.3-1 and no patches for this problem.

Thanks,

Norton.

Hello,

Issue was reported to DECforms Engineering against OpenVMS 7.3-1 with a SYS$SHARE:FORM$FDESHR.EXE "FORMS V3.3-001"
link date/time: 3-NOV-2002 06:47:22.16. Use $ ANA/IMAGE to determine your exact version. This was the base image that comes with DECforms version 3.3.

As described in CFS.96503, this problem relates to a changed behaviour of one
of the system service calls (SYS$DELPRC) on VMS V7.3-1 (and later).

Unfortunately this issue was never addressed in a formal patch although it is scheduled to be addressed in the next version of DECforms (4.0) or a informal FORMS$FDESHR.EXE can be created for you.

Sorry for the inconvenience. Thank you for your interest in hp and our products.

Sincerely,

Chip Bennett
OpenVMS Language Support Team
hp Technical Services

Norton,

I have the image from DECforms Engineering as a result of my original SPR (Software Problem Report).
You really cannot make the SYS$SHARE:FORMS$FDESHR.EXE image yourself although I can arrange to ftp this to you of you like?

Feel free to send me an email (offline). I will create FTP account, put the file
out on our public site and send instructions on how you can GET the file to your site (if you have ftp capabilities?) My email is Chip.Bennett@hp.com

Chip
