Communicate between two different plattforms

Hello!

I have two systems one Windows plattform with an MFC application using SQL Server database and an OpenVMS plattform with an Ingres 4GL application using an Ingress database.

I want to have an OpenVMS process to read the SQL Server database probably by using ODBC and update the Ingres database located on the OpenVMS side with these data.

Both systems are located on the same Ethernet LAN.

Is it any problem with the request that I have?
Does it exist a ODBC driver for SQL Server to use on OpenVMS?
Is this ODBC driver for SQL Server language dependent because it will be used in Ingres 4gl language.

Tony,

It would be extremely helpful if the question included the versions of the products (both SQL Server and Ingres).

As a start, I would check for an ODBC component on the Ingres www site.

Try www.easysoft.com i recently buy their product "Gateway ODBC driver for RMS files", and I have resolve similar problem.
