Ravi,
If you are using TCP/IP Services for OpenVMS, you could define the logical name TCPIP$SMTP_FROM to be something like:
<THIS.IS.ME>
This will then show up in the "From:" address field (unless something else fiddles with it).
Regards,
Kris (aka Qkcl)</THIS.IS.ME>

IS YOUR SHIFT KEY BROKEN?

It might help if we knew whose IP software
you're using, and on what. You might start
with this:

tcpip show version

Microsoft Outlook tool is not a mail server; this matter is very likely centrally involving the OpenVMS VAX host that is sending the mail, or the mail server (and probably an Exchange server) that is managing your Outlook mail.

Does the same SMTP return address show up when you send OpenVMS VAX mail to another SMTP host server that is not associated with your Exchange server? Can you confirm this is associated with OpenVMS VAX and not with your Exchange server?

Perform the following command:

$ SHOW LOGICAL TCPIP$SMTP_FROM

For older releases of TCP/IP Services:

$ SHOW LOGICAL UCX$SMTP_FROM

And it could well be you're not running TCP/IP Services here, too.
