I just read the thread be John Kittel about his MAIL.MAI, and out of curiosity I viewed his profile.

It appears he recently got his hat, and nobody took notice..

his profile shows him a U*X man, but that does not mean his congrats thread cannot be in VMS if he obviously also deals with VMS!!!

Congrats John, and DO show up in VMS somewhat more often!

Wow, I'm being congratulated! How wonderful!
Thank you all.

It means a lot to me, because of the great respect I have for all of you accomplished professionals who give your time, energy, and expertise in these forums.

Although I have been busily learning and working with HP-UX for the past few years ( we have 5 systems now and counting, plus a few True-64, and several Linux), I was mostly a VMS system manager before that, and we still have 30 or so systems running, and only me to take care of them all. All the Unix work, plus the lack of a need to do very much VMS ( they just keep running!), has left my VMS a little rusty. I certainly wouldn't be able to do it all without the help from my esteemed colleagues in the forums.

I intend to continue to look for ways to contribute to the forums and improve the quality of my responses, so I can live up to the high standards you have all set.

See you in the VMS ( and UX ) forums.
