    <description>&lt;P&gt;If you have no private or public community strings, why have SNMP enabled?&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;What version of TCPIP are you running may be different for which files or locations the SNMP is located.&amp;nbsp; If you are using a different IP stack, then this won't even help any.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;If you are on a newer version of TCPIP this should show what community strings you have setup:&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;tcpip show config snmp/full&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;type&amp;nbsp; SYS$SYSDEVICE:[TCPIP$SNMP]TCPIP$SNMP_CONF.DAT&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;If the strings are setup in the SYS$SYSDEVICE:[TCPIP$SNMP]TCPIP$SNMP_CONF.DAT file, then edit the file to remove them.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;If the community strings are setup in the tcpip config, then you remove them via : tcpip set config snmp /nocommunity="name"&lt;/P&gt;</description>

      <description>&lt;P&gt;&lt;SPAN&gt;Open VMS and &lt;SPAN&gt;SNMP&lt;BR /&gt;I need to change the default SNMP configuration&amp;nbsp; to have no private or public strings and I do not know the command line sequence to do this.&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;&lt;SPAN&gt;&lt;SPAN&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;/P&gt;
