Hi all

I am facing the problem of configuring ssh371 to not prompt for password when doing a scp.

It automatically gives me an exit error message 255 whenever I try to do a scp but when i allow password prompt, scp works fine.

Any help will be much appreciated. Thanks!

cheers
bburn

How do you expect it to work?

If you intend it to use public key authentication, how did you set it up?

cu,
Martin

Hi

I used the following instructions to setup ssh.

1. mkgroup -l >> ..\etc\group
2. mkpasswd -l >> ..\etc\passwd

Then, i generated the public-private key using "ssh-genkey -t dsa" and then copying the file "id_dsa.pub" to authorized_keys2.

The above setup works for win2k but not for win2003.

Kian Seng

Hello Kian,

since your question does not seem to involve the hp OpenVMS operating system at all and this forum is about OpenVMS, you might not find the expertise you are looking for.

If you to head over to the Microsoft Windows forum at

http://forums1.itrc.hp.com/service/forums/familyhome.do?familyId=116

your chances to get a good answer for this question are much better.

Greetings, Martin
