UPS for Alpha DS10 running OpenVMS

I have Alpha DS10 running OpenVMS.
We have purchased UPS R1500XR from HP to protect it.

Still I was unable to find out any software (like PowerChute) that I can use to signal to the OpenVMS to gracefully shutdown if needed.

Does somebody knows any software that I can use or where I can find specifications of the signals R1500XR can receive and send via serial port to the host.

There is a version of APC's PowerChute software available, but it is extremely limited in its abilities.

I'd personally recommend using Tmesis' UPShot product. It's very customizable and very reliable, and supports a wide range of APC UPSs.

Tmesis even offers a hobbyist license for us who can't get enough OpenVMS at work...
