That license allows you to access either one of two file and print server products which run on OpenVMS: the "PATHWORKS for OpenVMS (Advanced Server)" product, or, the "Advanced Server for OpenVMS" product.

That license has absolutely nothing to do with "PATHWORKS 32". PATHWORKS 32 is a product which runs on Windows clients and provides DECnet networking for PC clients, PowerTerm terminal emulation, eXcursion X Window Server, and other related functionality.

You do not need PATHWORKS 32 to use either of the file and print servers on OpenVMS. You do not need either of the file and print servers on OpenVMS to use PATHWORKS 32. The only thing they have in common is the name "PATHWORKS".

Please see these two sites for more information:

http://h71000.www7.hp.com/pathworks/ will tell you about the file and print server products for OpenVMS.

http://h71000.www7.hp.com/pathworks32/ will tell you about the PC client product set.

Rgs,

Brad

>>How can I download v7.4 from Internet?

I don't think you can. You need to buy it, to the best of my knowledge:

http://h71000.www7.hp.com/pathworks32/ordering.html

For general information on PATHWORKS 32 see http://h71000.www7.hp.com/pathworks32

Brad McCusker

Hi Brad,

A question in a similar vein. I've just got a couple of new DS25s, both with OVMS EIP. There were two licenses there entitled "PW 32 MUL SYS" (product name field is "PWXXWINAT07.04") but no Pathworks32 CD. I think _that_ license directly assumes Pathworks 32 and should normally come with the PW32 CD. Am I wrong?

BR,
Dmitry

Yeah, I know. My point is, I've got the license without the CD. Does that mean the CD was just lost during shipping or its absence was intentional?

The license is more important than the CD :-)

I think the CD is given with the VMS distribution and it is in the SPL :

( see
http://h71000.www7.hp.com/openvms/os/swroll/VAROL.HTML :

PATHWORKS 32 7.4 XP 2003 NOW 56.33 5LKAA U U U)

hth,
/HF
