this question seems to have fallen off the front screen - sort of a good thing as it shows plenty of activity here.

Is an answer still required?

An answer would be nice, but I expect it's going to be of the type: "The old version of TCPIP(UCX) had this, but the new version doesn't support this". Is that correct?
John,

as TCP/IP Services get "unixier" with every version, I'd rather expect it'd be the other way around.

BTW, IIRC, UCX named code was based on BIND 4, since V5 it's based on BIND 5 (or is it BIND 9 in V5.4?).

cu,
Martin

After having a look in the docs:
- yes, TCP/IP Services' V5.4 named is BIND9-based
- no, a named-xfer utility is not included

See http://h71000.www7.hp.com/doc/732final/6526/6526pro_015.html#trouble_bind9_sec

IIRC, nslookup's "ls -d" command uses a zone transfer.

cu,
Martin

You're right, you can emulate show host with
nslookup ls -d <DOMAIN_NAME>

Thanks and Ciao
John

</DOMAIN_NAME>
