If you don't happen to have a LAN analyzer with you. Try using TCPTRACE on the VMS side. I don't recall the exact syntax.

Send the output to a file and and analyze it after the failure. Use /PORT=23 to limit the trace to telnet. Use /NUMBER=99999 and hit control-y after the restart. Type a string into the telnet session such as "XYZZYXYZZYXYZZY" so that you can identify connection during analysis.

I'm with my customer who had very slow trouble http://forums1.itrc.hp.com/service/forums/questionanswer.do?threadId=799684

Now all emulators and VT work fine but two PC have some weird trouble: suddenly connection halts and after a few seconds restarts.
Both PC have windows xp (but also other PC in network have same OS). All PCs use PowerTerm emulator of pathwork32.

Any idea?

Antonio Vigliotti
Antonio,

Does this two PC have also problems when comunicate with other PCs? PCs have the same speed/mode problem with network cards. So you must check this. Maybe is time to get a managed switch, which has the ability to set the speed and mode for each port.

Bojan.

Move both PCs on hub 10Mbs and trouble seems solved :-|
I can't understand why. No change made neither on PCs or Alpha.

Antonio Vigliotti
