Seeking a Free FTP Client for Windows

I have VMS7.3-2 and I am having a problem finding a free ftp client for windows that handles VMS and structure5 disks. We don't want WS_FTP nor CoreFTP. Any other pointers?

Hi Phil,

Thank you for your reply. I did check out FileZilla and it looks pretty good and has nice GUI. But it seems to lack the ability to mask/filter files when user is view large directories. Thx! Sam.

Have you checked out Cupertino ftp? It's a little dated, but the author explicitly put in support for VMS file structures, and my few tests with it and ODS5 have been successful.

You'll have to search for it on some of the freeware sites; the link in the Help menu is stale.

Hi Aaron,

I just tried it. Seems to lack mask and local directory settings. Thanks for your help. I should have listed our requirements in more detail in my original post:
1) ODS5 support
2) remembers and encrypt passwds
3) displays files using a mask. we have large common download directory, the average user only needs to see a small subset.

Did you try SmartFTP (www.smartftp.com). It's free for personal use...
