Hi,

after my excoursion yesterday in MOP I found today a logfile with interesting error messages: sys$manager:net$mop_output.log

the messages are:
%%% CCR #2628 5-JUL-2006 13:35:27.15 %%%
%MOP-E-RETRYEX, retransmit limit exceeded

%%% CCR #2648 5-JUL-2006 13:35:28.95 %%%
%MOP-E-RETRYEX, retransmit limit exceeded

%%% CCR #2650 5-JUL-2006 13:35:29.34 %%%
%MOP-E-RETRYEX, retransmit limit exceeded

Where does these messages come from and what can I do that they don't appear any more?

Regards,

Kirsten

Kirsten,

CCR = Console Carrier Requestor

Try to find out, which operation on your system causes these error messages to appear:

Are you using SET HOST/MOP ? Or is it TSM trying to connect to a terminal server (via DECnet MOP) ?

Volker.

Volker:
this was a very good hint. I was using TSM with a show server *. 5 servers were unavailable and so 5 messages appeared in the log file. And so I mentioned that TSM has the following in his startup:
MCR NCL SET NODE 0 MOP CIRCUIT CSMACD-0 RETRANSMIT TIMER 1

so I get a message for every DECServer that is not reachable, where the limit is exceeded.
Thank you.
