odd Problem

2 alpha ds20e on same network

1 runs vms 7.3-2 and pathworks 6.0c
network mask on this machine is 255.255.255.128

the other runs vms 8.3 and pathworks 7.3B
when the network mask is 255.255.255.0 a PC can connect to shares, when the network mask is 255.255.255.128 it cant? also the command "net send" runs on the 1st machine but only runs on the 2nd when the mask is set to 255.255.255.128

is it possible to get both apps working at the same time from the 2nd machine and why does it rely so heavily on the subnet mask setting?

as of next week only the 2nd alpha will be on the network so i am hoping both net send and pathworks will be ok?

Robert, it would have been handy if you would have splitup the 2 tables from the 2 alpha's, now its one bunch of spaghetty.
But, what I see sounds very wrong to me.
In the routing table i see:

AH 129.94.185.20 129.94.185.20

So here you are telling VMS that if it needs to send traffic to your PC (129.94.185.20) through interface 129.94.185.20.
It doesn't have an interface 129.94.185.20.
So that will fail.

please remove that route
