    <description>Dear experts,&lt;BR /&gt;I'm a OpenVMS hobbyist and I have a MicroVAX 3100-90 running OpenVMS VAX 7.3.&lt;BR /&gt;Now I'd like to open some applications such as clock.exe or terminal.exe on the MicroVAX and let them display on my local PC running Ubuntu Linux.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;I've already tried following so far:&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;$ SET DISPLAY/CREATE/TRANSPORT=TCPIP/NODE=192.168.3.10&lt;BR /&gt;$ sh disp&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;    Device:    WSA1:  [super]&lt;BR /&gt;    Node:      192.168.3.10&lt;BR /&gt;    Transport: TCPIP&lt;BR /&gt;    Server:    0&lt;BR /&gt;    Screen:    0&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;$ run decw$clock.exe&lt;BR /&gt;X Toolkit Error: Can't Open display&lt;BR /&gt;%DWT-F-NOMSG, Message number 03AB8204&lt;BR /&gt;$&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Hope you can help me to solve this issue.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Please feel free to ask me for further details, if needed.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Kind regards</description>

      <description>Can you run for example xclock ( xeyes ) on the desktop?&lt;BR /&gt;( /usr/X11R6/bin/xclock ?)&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Do you have the xserver running on the desktop?&lt;BR /&gt;Maybe: /usr/bin/X11/X -multiwindow ... &amp;amp;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Did you authorize incoming requests from the VMS system?&lt;BR /&gt;Maybe:  xauth / xhost +&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;fwiw&lt;BR /&gt;Hein.</description>

      <description>If this is just a hobbyist thing, and your local network is 'trusted'.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Check that your Linux box accepts TCP connections (often it will be started -nolisten tcp). &lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Make sure port 6000 isn't firewalled.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;</description>

      <description>Mr. Brodie, you were right! The "-nolisten tcp" option of the X server was active. After starting X without "-nolisten tcp" everything works like a charm.&lt;BR /&gt;Thank you very very much!</description>
