In ABS V3.2 and V4.1 a SAVE will not run if the originaly user who created the SAVE doesn't exist in the uaf anymore. Recreating that user (UIC doesn't matter) solves that one but I don't want that user back on my system.
Setting the owner and access don't solve this.

I do not know much about ABS, but if you feel uncomfortable with this user account, how about setting it to DISUSR? Does ABS still work then?

Why don't modify the owner itself ?
The /owner qualifier specifies the owner of the object
MDMS> set save/owner_name=*****
or look at
MDMS> help set save

Hope this help
Michel

ABS SET SAVE ... /OWNER=... doesn't work, ABS v3 shows in a ABS SHOW SAVE .../FULL a profile containing the username. I asume that's the one to be changed... However the ABS SET SAVE .../PROFILE=... command does'nt exist!

Kind regards, Luitzen

Hi,

/OWNER and /ACCESS is not my problem. Stil something fails in running the job referring to the user who created the job. When I give a abs show save.../full I also get output like this:

.....
Profile          - Node=NODE07, Cluster=None, Username=JAN
- Privs=(CMKRNL,CMEXEC,SYSNAM,GRPNAM,ALLSPOOL,DETACH,DIAGNOSE,LOG_IO,GROUP,NOACNT,PRMCEB,PRMMBX,PSWAPM,SETPRI,S
ETPRV,TMPMBX,WORLD,MOUNT,OPER,EXQUOTA,NETMBX,VOLPRO,PHY_IO,BUGCHK,PRMGBL,SYSGBL,PFNMAP,SHMEM,SYSPRV,BYPASS,SYSLCK,SHARE,ACNT,ALTPRI)
- Rights List=(MDMS_SYSPRV,ABS_BYPASS)
Owner            - NODE07::PIET
Access Control   - User=NODE07::PIET
- Access=(READ, WRITE, SET, SHOW, DELETE, CONTROL)
....

The Owner and Access Control can be modifeid but stil the creator stays in the Profile (the lines preceding the Owner and Acces Control). I can't change that and it seems to me that this is the probem preventing me to use this save...

Kind regards, Luitzen

OK, That work arond seems to be working. So did the recreation of the original user... It gives a lot of work we're not waiting for... And what if the next user leaves the company. I suppose I'll allways have to create a save as SYSTEM....

Kind regards, Luitzen
