LPR Error codes - Remote Printer Disabled

I have a couple of remote printers have been disabling themselves and providing a return code. I have received error code 1, and 141 on different printers.

Does any one have a list of the lpr error codes?

Hello

I wonder if you are talking about Vms, and if Vms is concerned, it would be nice to know the Vms version and the Tcpip version.

Anyway, you should have a complete error message in the file sys$manager:operator.log ((if the logical name opc$logfile_name has not been defined)

for example
%lpr-f-xxx, error getting a port

it really would help to give some more background information (like the full message you receive) as well as the environment (TCP/IP stack used) and the printer setup (direct LPD on the printer or forwarding queue to another LPD server).

Here is the printer information:

printer PrintA disabled since Jan 23 00:06 -
error 141 returned
fence priority : 0

printer PrintB disabled since Jan 27 02:48 -
error 1 returned
fence priority : 0

The printers are disabling on Server1 which they are configured remotely, from Server2 the printers are direct. The printers are fine on Server2, there are no error and they are not disabling. There are also 850 printers that are configured the same way so I don't think it would be a network slowness issue.

I would really like to find out what these error codes mean, but I have not been able to find any lists of the error codes.

Which operating system you are using...it does seems to me related to VMS.
