      <description>Hi,&lt;BR /&gt;The layer product I18N(International language had been successfully installed into OpenVMS V7.3-2. &lt;BR /&gt;the file that written in Chinese code, could not edit correctly, the unknown character was&lt;BR /&gt;display. I had define the LANG as ZH_CN_GB18030&lt;BR /&gt;and decc$vmsi18n_startup.com was executed at system start.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;</description>

      <description>Hi,&lt;BR /&gt;I don't know your system so I guess you are using decwindows and your client hasn't support for chineese fonts.&lt;BR /&gt;May be like you broswe a chinese page with IE: you have to load right font before view.&lt;BR /&gt; &lt;BR /&gt;@Antoniov&lt;BR /&gt;</description>

      <description>I just installed the I18N that on vms7.3-2 LP, and not installed decwindows_motif/hanzi&lt;BR /&gt;the alphaserver was ES40. I could not find any documentation such as user guide.</description>

      <description>Hello Charles,&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;I installed I18N after reading your request here. It does contain all kinds of interesting stuff like message files, character maps etc. The one thing it does not contain are fonts. In this situation you might be able to see chinese characters only on a display that has these fonts (e.g. redirect your output to a Linux system). To get native display on VMS you will need to install localized versions of DECwindows (should be on the CDs too).&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Greetings, Martin</description>

      <description>What program are you using to edit the file?  If you are using one of the character cell editors, then you would need either a terminal or terminal emulator with support for the character set you are using as well as the correct fonts.  I'm not even certain, though, whether TPU or EDT has support for wide characters.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;You might have better luck under DECWindows.  I believe there are separate DECWindows products for at least the major Chinese variants, and these should come with the appropriate fonts.</description>
