Fuzzy memory, but I seem to remember a problem with one of the VMS V6.? upgrades where it trashed the help library and you had to restore a copy from the previous version. I will see if I can locate more information on it and post again.

Found this note:

1) HELP/MESSAGE is broken on VAXes (see previous thread). You need to
replace the copy of SYS$LIBRARY:MSGHLP$ENGLISH.EXE with that from VMS
6.1. Of course, foreign language versions may be OK! Curiously, the
new Alpha version works fine.
"Fuzzy memory, but I seem to remember ..."

Not so fuzzy I'ld say...you were bang on!!

$ help/message DATMISMCH

DATMISMCH, creation date of 'date' in shareable image 'image-name' .....

Works! Even more amazing is I was able to find VMS 6.1 media (on CD!!). I was fully expecting to have to ask if someone had a TK50 drive I could borrow!!!

Thanks for remembering and not making me relive TK50's,
Art
