And steph,

if you really intend to follow up on Willem's and Antonio's wishes not to receive points for the advise on HOW to give points, then still ASSIGN point: you can also assign 0 (zero) points.
But that way, the entry is no longer "Unassigned", and in your own profile you do not have the irritating "I assigned points to <TOO few=""> answers to <MANY more=""> topics".

And, to explain Antonio's Bunny remark: a topic is considered "solved", and gets a bunny, if you assign at least 8 points to at least 1 answer.

Jan
(like Willem & Antonio, this also merits no points)</MANY></TOO>

Hi,

We have just changed our Alphaserver 2100 (vms6.2, ucx4.2, decnet V) by a DS10 (vms7.3-1, tcpip v5.3-18, decnet osi 7.3-1). The new server report carrier check failure every 10 seconds on "station csmacd-1" which corresponds to the second network card which is not in use.

How can I avoid this problem?

Thanks in advance for your help

Regards

Steph.

Hi,

You can connect this card to the network. If you dont need the card disable it in the network cofiguration (or simplier do not configure it when you configure decnet and tcpip).

For the decnet osi check the ncl scripts in the sys$manager directory and comment out the references to csmacd-1.
For the tcpip do a set nointerface and set configuration nointerface.

Bojan
