Lionel,

if the node is still running, you are not supposed to disable/delete the license or use it for another system.

LIC DISABLE or LIC DELETE does not immediately cause a problem, as the licenses are normally only loaded during system startup.

LIC UNLOAD may cause problems, depending on the product. Some products only check for enough license units during startup, others will check during each activation (e.g. LOGIN or product use)

Volker.

Hello there,

We used to have four node cluster system A,B,C,D. Each node registered separated license, for example CLUSTER license. Now we are not going to use node C any more. we are trying to remove the node C cluster license to use for somewhere else. How do we know which cluster license is for node C?

Thanks very much

Lionel

Lionel,

if you can find the PAK License sheet, you may be able to figure out from the order-number on that piece of paper, which VMSCLUSTER license belongs to which system. Use the Authorization number to select the license in the database.

Also check with LIC LIST/FULL VMSCLUSTER, someone may have assigned the license with /INCLUDE=nodename to a specific node.

Otherwise, if all nodes have the same license units, it doesn't matter (technically), as you can just pick one license and disable or delete it from the license database.

Volker.

Thanks for your reply,

When we register licenses, we designate the node name which can access.

Our system is 24/7 system. if I remove the license for the node which is still running. I don't konw what kind of problem it will cause.

Thanks very much

Lionel
