      <description>It would really help if you explained in what context you use jam Files. they do not appear to be a standard windows or other file type. &lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Are they Java Macros, Joint Assembly Modules, or recipes for preserves. &lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Q</description>

      <description>If You mean the JAM "make" utility (the one Ian points the URLs to), then it builds on VMS too.&lt;BR /&gt;Just for curiosity I tried it once, and basically it works (although needs work to support ODS5). &lt;BR /&gt;I (and my users) don't actually use it. It seems to be an attempt to produce just another make utility, and I question its usefullness.</description>
