Based on the errors I can tell you are
using internal PAKs. If you are an
HP employee please use internal escalation
channels for discussing the problem, if you
are not an HP employee, how did you get
these PAKs?

Guy Peleg
OpenVMS Engineering

Hi,
I got a license file to update the OpenVMS license. I cut a CD, got it mounted on the server and when I run the file I get the following error/warning.
I am net to openvms. Please suggest.

$ @vms_test.txt

%DCL-W-IVVERB, unrecognized command verb – check validity and spelling \OKN\

%DCL-W-UNDSYM, undefined symbol – check validity and spelling \VMS_TESTPAKS_MARCHESANO\

%DCL-W-UNDSYM, undefined symbol – check validity and spelling \VMS_TESTPAKS_MARCHESANO\

%DCL-W-MAXPARM, too many parameters – reenter command with fewer parameters

%DCL-W-UNDSYM, undefined symbol – check validity and spelling \DEC\

%DCL-W-UNDSYM, undefined symbol – check validity and spelling \DEC\

Thanks & Regards,
-GnanaShekar-

Hi,

Welcome to the OpenVMS forum.

Could you provide us with some extra info?
Like (a modified version of) the contents of the vms_test.txt file (leave out the checksum info).
Is that file really a DCL command procedure? If so, I think that there are some mistakes made. If not, you have to take the info from that file and manually register it using the LICENSE utility or SYS$UPDATE:VMSLICENSE.COM.

Regards,
Kris (aka Qkcl)
It sounds to me like you are not using this file properly. You don't normally use a .txt file with the @ sign. The @ sign is really suppose to be used for DCL command files which normally (are supposed to) have a .com extension.

Otherwise, it would be impossible to help you without knowing the contents of this file.

Hi,

I got the file from a HP representative. I am following with him on this issue. He is in US and A reply from him takes a day. Since I am new OPenVMS and the issue is pending for long, I thought of getting suggestions simultaneously from this forum.

The HP representative has suggested me to edit the file to remove any extraneous carriage returns or line feeds. I am using textpad in windows and I donot see any extra carriage returns or line feeds.

Thanks & Regards,
-GnanaShekar-
