Is it possible to use this command and also change the date? I hope to have the opportunity to change some clocks just before midnight and since we're "springing ahead" it will end up being tomorrow.

The examples show only time being set. Can I do this with a delta spec, if so what would it be?

Other than that I'll simply make sure there are a few extra cold ones in the fridge if I have to stay up past midnight ;-)

SYSMAN HELP

SET

TIME

Description

The CONFIGURATION SET TIME command enables you to reset the
system time. Specify a time value using the following format:

[dd-mmm-yyyy[:]] [hh:mm:ss.cc]

You can also enter a delta time value. Refer to the OpenVMS
User's Manual for more information about time formats.

The next question would be why you are doing
this manually. The VMS FAQ has a lot of
stuff on DST.

I seem to recall running a daily batch job to
deal with this in the old days (29-OCT-1994)
when I needed to fiddle both
SYS$TIMEZONE_DIFFERENTIAL and WIN$TIME_ZONE
(for the Wollongong PathWay TCP/IP software),
but it's all been automatic for quite a while
now.

Wrt your 1994 comment, the way things are setup and not moving forward AT ALL, it might as well be 1994! We still have a couple of VAX 5.5-2H4 systems (15 - 2GB spindles!), VAXstations etc. Kinda pathetic.

I hope to be doing some upgrading this year and consolidate our Alpha 800's onto ES47's, but some VAX apps will never upgrade/migrate ... they'll self combust and people will react like they couldn't see it coming (for the past decade+).
