I want watchdog to run in my client vax server.So, I have to instal products out from WATCHV_0242_ZIP_VAX.EXE . Am I right ?

B. If I load ADVISOR_0242_ZIP_VAX.EXE whatbenefit I am going to get. Will it provide me PSDC$STARTUP.COM file to start performance analyser or I need a different product to load performance analyser.
Yes Thomas,
Actually, I am trying to instal Unicenter products in a new VMS box as agent, similar to the already loaded by other person in another VMS boxes. So, I am unable to find which products & versions he has loaded. Infact there are lots of unicenter products installed in those boxes but not configured. I am bit confused on what to load and what not to. Now I have decided to go only for watch dog installation & configuraion first. The main unicenter server is ok. I have to made watchdog agent ready in the new VMS box.

So, please ignore my just asked previous question. Now, I have installed the product & SNS$WATCHDOG detached process is running. Please help me on how to configure watchdog agent in vms box, so that unicenter server can talk to it and it should run ok.

To see which products your predecessor has loaded on the systems using VMSINSTAL rather than PCSI, you can always

$ TYPE SYS$UPDATE:VMSINSTAL.HISTORY

You might want to direct the output to a file if there is a lot to look at. Note that the output is 132 columns wide!

Duncan

Re: Duncan Morris
Note that Sk Noorul Hassan is installing or has installed on a VAX. The file SYS$UPDATE:VMSINSTAL.HISTORY does not exist on OpenVMS VAX.

Btw, be very careful with the UNICENTER stuff from CA, since sometimes newer versions of e.g. SNS are packaged in .ZIP files with the same name as old ones.

To configure SNS, I think (and cannot verify at the moment being in Nashua) that there is a configuration command procedure that is put on the system disk by the installation procedure.

Regards,
Kris (aka Qkcl)
