Replace a Failed disk from a mirror set in HSG80

Hi,

We have a failed disk in a mirrorset.
The failed disk is moved to failed set.
I have deleted the failedset, replaced the failed disk and initialized this disk.

How do I add this back to the mirror set ?

at the HSG80

add spare

If that doesn't start a rebuild, check the replacement policy on the mirror set with:

show mirror and look for the "policy = " setting. This defaults to best performance and controls which disk from the spare set the controller will select for a rebuild.

I added the new disk as a spare,
It is now adding the new disk to the mirrorset.

As a rule, I prefer to configure disks in the spare at all times. In the event of a failed disk, a raid unit will rebuild without intervention. Replacement disks can assigned as spare set members. You'll want to track shelf and scsi channel assignments to minimize single points of failure and optimize performance. This will reduce the window of vulnerability while running a raid-1 mirrorset with only 1 physical disk as a member.

I have succesfully replaced the faulty disk.
And HSG has added the new disk to the mirrorset.
