DFU V3.2 Badparameter error

I downloaded DFU 3.2 today from digiater.nl and installed it using
$ product install

Things install fine but after
$ mc dfu
every command I give with a disk value in it stops and gives me a badparamter value.

vms version 7.3-1
Account is privileged and quotas are checked.

$ mc dfu
dfu> search/version=minimum=1000 dka0:
or
dfu> verify dka0:

things like deleting a directory: no problems

Hi Bart,

I can confirm this. DFU 3.2 on OpenVMS Alpha V7.3-1:

DFU> REPORT DISK0

gives %SYSTEM-W-NOSUCHDEV

DFU> REPORT DSA0:

gives %SYSTEM-F-BADPARAM

Btw, DISK0 is the logical name for DSA0:, and no problems on V7.3-2, V8.2 nor V8.3 (Alpha).

Had the same problem on 7.3 (NOT at all fully patched). Went back to 2.6 ...

I would recommend you use 2.7A if you can't use V3.2 as it has fixes over 2.6

Also upgrade to VMS 7.3-2 - its a lot better.

Ok, problem found. Ton has fixed some issues with the maximum volume size, and used the getdvi item code dvi$_volsize which does not work for VMS versions before V7.3-2, hence the error.

I might fix this in the future, for now there are too many other projects I'm working on, so I'll add this to the wishlist.

In the mean time use a version prior to V3.2 for VMS versions before V7.3-2.

And yes, I'm still part of an antique shop. Found a disk with V7.3-1 on it (actually, I just built a new disk with VAX V5.5-2 but that was for work, and not for the pure fun.....).
