Volker,

Indeed related : we don't have a "proper" license.

But I don't have any messages in the operator log. And it doesn't explain the hang of the process. Coincidence ?

I will consider it as a one time event.

Thx

Wim

VMS 7.3 on GS160 cluster, not fully patched.
PSDC version 2.4-0009 dd 5-sep-2000.

I found that the psdc process was stuck since 3 jan (state LEF).

There are 2 clusters of 2 nodes and all 4 nodes had the process in hang (t.i. not producing daily files). Within a timeframe of 20 minutes they all went in hang (00:18 - 00:38). There is no operator log message, nothing in accounting and nothing seen by system monitoring.

All other servers had no problem at all.

adv coll show stat said running. adv coll stop/wait gave a hang. Stop/id stopped it well. Restarted without any problem.

???

Wim

If it happens again then you could investigate further - which event flag?, what could it be waiting for and so on.

The restarted process went back into hang the next day.

I installed the patch and did no further changes. Problem solved. BTW : after the change the anal/ima still reports the version without V2.

New problem : the patch installed product_codes.txt in sys$common:[ca_lic] while the installed version had it in sys$specifific. Removed the one in sys$specific and restarted psdc. OK.

Wim
