If you are currently running OpenVMS Alpha Version 6.2x through 7.1x, you must
do a two-step upgrade: first to Version 7.2-2 or 7.3, and then to Version 7.3-2.

Wim

My co-worker recently upgraded a very old alpha from 6.2-1h3 (I think) to v7.3-2 but the firmware needed to be upgraded. We found the needed firmware on a v7.2 (or v7.2-2) firmware distribution. The firmware was not included with the firmware distribution that came with v7.3-2 because it was that old. We have not seen any problems with the v7.3-2 installation .
